No contexto tecnológico, os usuários devem estar atentos aos conteúdos que circulam, principalmente para não cair em golpes ou até mesmo ter os seus celulares e computadores invadidos por vírus.

Assim como o spam, agora é a vez do slop, termo que ganhou força quando se refere a conteúdos de Inteligência Artificial (IA) ruins ou até mesmo indesejados nos resultados de busca na internet.

Além disso, o termo se tornou ainda mais evidente quando o Google incorporou seu modelo de IA Gemini em resultados de busca nos Estados Unidos da América (EUA).

O serviço tem como objetivo resolver uma consulta diretamente com um pedaço de texto no topo de determinada página que usa o Gemini para formar o melhor palpite que o usuário está em busca.

De acordo com o diretor do Northwestern University’s Center for Advancing Safety of Machine Intelligente, Kristian Hammond, o problema do modelo atual é que a informação está sendo apresentada como uma resposta definitiva, ao invés de um ponto de partida para a pesquisa.

Ele explica que quando o usuário pesquisa algo, ele recebe o que precisa pensar, e “o que está acontecendo, nessa integração com modelos de linguagem, é algo que não encoraja o usuário a pensar”.

Vale destacar que o slop é usado para descrever um material de IA de baixa qualidade que aparentemente surgiu em reação ao lançamento de geradores de arte de IA no ano de 2022.
